Comments:

We walked in from Brinscall, over a mile and several stiles and a couple of fields away, but there is closer parking. The only closest safe lay by parking is on the A674 at approximately 53.706064,-2.573023. There is very dodgy parking right at GZ as it is a single track road with no off road parking at all. There is also dodgy half on road parking (blocking the footpath) on Bury Lane at approximately 53.706064,-2.573023 which is slightly away from the slight bend in the road (bury Lane is national speed limit and most traffic utilise the straighter parts for speed). There is a lowered curb at the entrance to Withnell house rehab facility, pretentiously called Astley Hall (the building is technically a hall and the owner is named Astley which is the only way he gets away with it). There is some “shrubbery” to deal with at GZ with about ten feet to go into thigh high mixed grass, wild flowers and nettles, I will rate the cache from the parking location I would recommend but of course; the final decision is, as always, yours.
