Comments:
There's a narrow entrance opposite the parking layby onto the Public Footpath which will get you without much difficulty to within 250m of GZ.
By narrow entrance I mean just wide enough for an adult to walk through. Wheelchair access would be impossible via this route.
Decent wide, flat earth / grit paths to within around 250m of the cache although they are punctuated in places with short muddy stretches which must be a fairly permanent feature given the obvious worn alternative tracks which go around the mud.
There are one or two sloping sections on the path if memory serves. A mountain bike would probably be able to use these paths with relative ease. Anything else on wheels would probably struggle with the muddy / uneven bits.
The last 250m is a complete contrast. The path becomes a narrow track, grassy in places, overgrown in others. It is very uneven and rutted and involves a fair number of natural (as opposed to manmade)rocky steps, some of them quite high. When the weather is wet this path can be a real challenge for kids to negotiate as the rocks can be very slippery, and they should most certainly have adult supervision as there are places where it would be very easy to slip from the narrow path into the water.
A reasonably fit adult with decent stamina and balance should have no trouble getting to GZ - especially if prepared to take a steady pace.
